This is the embarkment of a wonderful journey!  The inception of this online magazine is a result of an undying love for African American literature.  Our goal is to be a resource for book club advocates everywhere.  As our Mission Statement details, our vision is: to be a resource portal for established book clubs, reading group leaders, and individuals seeking to join or create an African American literary circle in their local vicinity.  Our aim is to initiate an exchange platform to address issues that are unique to the African American book club experience.  We seek to promote awareness of literary associations that serve as a support system by which diverse people from varying backgrounds come together to share a common love for the written art form.  Our overall focus is to help create, sustain and enhance African American book club networks around the globe.  We hope to provide others with a social outlet that encourages and supports a spiritual bond akin to that of sisterhood and to share that sisterhood with the local community and beyond.

I value my membership in the Black Sisterhood. And I will respect and love other Sisters as I am learning to respect and love myself.

The 20th Century has just begun in the South and slavery still haunts.  In a deep-woods region of Alabama, the tightening noose of Jim Crow is a rude indication of what white people really think of black people's "freedom."  Still, the black population of Johnson Creek, Alabama, manages to live their lives with abiding faith and hope.  Read More . . .

This site is dedicated to the memory of my mother, Betty Jean and the spirit of my daughters, BriJea and Adia. Betty is my history, Jada & DeeDee are my future. They are a tremendous part of who I am. Mama taught me strength, BriJea brought me courage, and Adia taught me joy. I love you and thank you for such a tremendous legacy!
